INDIANAPOLIS - A man was in critical condition Sunday after he was brought to a north side drug store suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers were called to the CVS Pharmacy at 2330 E. 46th St. just after 5 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

They found a 30-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The shooting happened in the 4200 block of North Evanston Avenue, where police found several shell casings, investigators said.

A friend of the victim drove the man to the CVS, where they called police.

The victim was later identified as Vernon Maxey. He remained in critical condition Sunday.
