KOKOMO, Ind. -- Like any pre-teen Xavier Johnson says he spends his days hanging out.

“[I] play games, play bass, listen to music,” Johnson said.

This winter, he's found himself doing that more often because of his health.

Xavier's mother says he lives with diabetes, cystic fibrosis and cirrhosis of the liver – illnesses that take a toll on his immune system, especially during the winter, when viruses like the flu are easily spread.

As a result of his health, Xavier can't be around his classmates and his teachers have to come to his house to share lessons so he won't get too far behind.

What keeps Xavier positive?

"Just knowing that people support you and some people don't you just stay in there,” the 12-year-old said.

Xavier's mom wants him to be able to see that support this Holiday in the form of Christmas Cards.

She’s asking the public to send them to 1009 E. Dixon Street Kokomo, IN 46901.

Xavier says he loves to collect the cards and sees it as something positive despite all the negativity in the world.

"Because they took their time to either make the card or buy the card just you know. Just to write something on it you know,” Xavier says.

Ever positive he knows he's not the only kid struggling this Christmas just perhaps the only kid with Christmas Cards on his Christmas wish list.

UPDATE: Xavier has received more than 500 Christmas cards already.

"There's more positive energy in the world than negative," Xavier's mother said.

Keep 'em coming!
