A man who police said killed his wife before shooting himself in the head, which he survived, has been charged with murder.Michael T. Giles, 37, and his wife, Emily C. Giles, 26, had been drinking with friends in a barn behind their home near 8000 North County Road and 400 West in Hendricks County last month when they got into an argument, police said.Michael Giles followed his wife into the home, after which witnesses reported hearing gunshots.Emily Giles was pronounced dead at the scene. Michael Giles was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries.Hendricks County Prosecutor Pat Baldwin confirmed that a murder charge was filed against Michael Giles on Tuesday.A 15-month-old child who was asleep in the home at the time was not injured.Police also discovered more than a dozen pipe bombs loaded with nails and BBs inside the home.
