A man accused of beating a resident at a Speedway retirement home over the weekend could face additional charges now that the man has died.

The incident happened Saturday at Roland's Retirement Village at 6038 W. 25th St., police said.

William Brown, 53, who was initially coherent after he was beaten, told investigators that another resident -- Roy Wayne Sheperd, 48 -- had attacked him.

Brown's condition deteriorated over the weekend, and he died early Monday at Methodist Hospital from multiple skull and facial fractures, police said.

Sheperd was arrested on Saturday in connection with the beating. Additional charges could be filed in the case.
