A man was found fatally shot in an apartment complex parking lot on Indianapolis' east side Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the Brookview apartments, near 12th Street and North Mitthoefer Road at about 3:30 p.m.

Derrick Jethroe, 25, was found lying in the parking lot. He was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police asked anyone who might have seen a vehicle leave the parking area after the shooting or has any information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
