Indiana State Police said Juan Perez, 32, of Indianapolis, was southbound on Interstate 465 near the Interstate 74 ramp when he lost control of his SUV.

"A witness to the crash stated the vehicle began to exit onto I-74 westbound, then abruptly crossed back to southbound I-465 and struck the end of the barrier wall," said ISP Sgt. Rich Myers.

Police said Perez was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the SUV. He was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
