A man suspected in two robberies who was shot by police last week has been released from the hospital and arrested.
Gerald L. Doll, 43, of rural Monticello, faces preliminary charges of robbery, robbery resulting in bodily injury, residential entry and two counts of resisting law enforcement.
Police said Doll held up the Twin Lakes Coin-op Laundry at 701 N. Illinois St. and the Bank of Wolcott on Sixth Street, both in Monticello, within 15 minutes of each other Feb. 21.
When police spotted Doll's SUV a short time later, they said he led them on a chase before taking off running and trying to break into a home in the 600 block of Bluff Street.
Police said Doll refused to surrender, prompting an officer to shoot Doll.
Doll was discharged from Methodist Hospital on Tuesday and was being held in Marion County awaiting transportation to White County, police said.
