Man Shot To Death In Indianapolis

Police said they were investigating the slaying of a man who was found shot on the city's west side Wednesday night.

Authorities said they were called at about 9:30 p.m. to the intersection of Burdsall Parkway and Montcalm Street, where they found the wounded man on the ground near a liquor store.

The man was identified as Mark Grooms, 35. Grooms was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they believe Grooms was walking through a parking lot when he was fired upon by an occupant of a moving car.

Police said they found 10 ammunition shells in the area. Authorities said they were trying to find two people who may have driven by the area. Details about the people police were seeking weren't available.

The homicide is Marion County's 105th of the year.
