A Kokomo man wanted on an attempted murder charge has been arrested in Illinois, more than a month after he shot a man in the back, police said.

Officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back in a home at 611 E. Mulberry St. in the early hours of June 29.

The man was taken to St. Joseph Hospital and later airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Kareen Dunn, 22, on a charge of attempted murder.

On Friday, the Markham Police Department in Illinois contacted Kokomo police to say that Dunn had been taken into custody.

Dunn is also facing additional charges in Illinois.
