The Cleveland Browns have released a statement denying that Johnny Manziel showed up to practice drunk.

The statement said:

"Johnny Manziel came to our facility on the morning of December 30th and complained of concussion symptoms. He was tested by an independent neurologist and entered the league's concussion protocol. He remained in the protocol until January 12th after being cleared by the independent neurologist."

BleacherReport.com reported Mike Silver of NFL.com said Manziel showed up to practice drunk on Dec. 30, 2015, the same day it was reported that Manziel complained of having concussion symptoms.

According to Silver, the Browns lied and said Manziel was in the concussion protocol. He said they lied 'to try to protect...this irresponsible and very troubled young man.'

Manziel's father recently said he didn't believe his son would make it to the age of 24 if he didn't receive some help.
