New charges are expected to be filed in the murder of Indianapolis police Officer David Moore.

U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Hogsett will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Indiana Statehouse.

Moore, 29, was shot and killed by Thomas Hardy, 61, in the line of duty in January 2011.

Hogsett's office said charges would be filed against a man accused of selling Hardy the gun that killed Moore.

Hardy, a convicted felon, pleaded guilty to charges of murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
