Since 2015, at least 11 Hoosier school employees and educators have been arrested on charges of inappropriate relationships with minors.
NICHOLAS McKINNEY - McKinney is accused of giving two high school students alcohol before assaulting them. More
MICHAEL DOUCE – Douce, 31, was accused of having unlawful relationships with two Noblesville High School students while employed as the assistant choir director. The girls told police they had engaged in flirty texts with Douce, eventually culminating in sexual relationships. Douce was sentenced in September 2015 to 16 years behind bars. READ MORE.
JAKOB ROBINSON – The former McCutcheon High School (Lafayette) PE teacher and assistant varsity football coach was arrested in January 2015 and charged with child seduction. The 37-year-old was sentenced in August 2015 to five years in prison. READ MORE.
MICHELLE LADD – Ladd was an instructional assistant with the Maconaquah School Corporation's alternative program when she was accused in February 2015 of having sexual relationships with multiple students. Police accused Ladd of giving the 17-year-old boys guns and alcohol as presents. She was charged with child seduction, unlawful transfer of a handgun and providing alcohol to a minor. READ MORE.
TERRA MOORE – Moore admitted in July 2015 to sexual contact with two 17-year-old Mooresville High School students. The 37-year-old was an employee with the school district at the time of the encounters. Moore faces three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and three counts of dissemination of matter harmful to minors. A jury trial was scheduled to beging June 7, 2016. READ MORE.
KYLE COX – Former Park Tudor High School basketball coach Kyle Cox was arrested in February 2016 on charges of coercion and enticement stemming from allegations of an improper relationship with a 15-year-old student. Police accused the 31-year-old of trying to get the student to send him sexually explicit pictures and to engage in sexual activity with him. Cox is currently facing federal charges in the case. SAMEER THAKAR – North Central High School teacher Sameer Thakar was charged in February 2016 with dissemination of material harmful to a minor. Investigators accused the 40-year-old teacher of sending "illegal and clearly inappropriate" material to a minor in Oregon. A jury trial was scheduled to begin June 9, 2016, in Hamilton County. SHANA TAYLOR – Police arrested Indianapolis Public Schools counselor Shana Taylor in late February 2016 on four charges of child seduction. The 37-year-old was later formally charged with 11 counts, including child seduction, dissemination of material harmful to minors and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A 17-year-old teen told investigators he and Taylor had sex approximately 20 times between October 2015 and February 2016. A jury trial for Taylor is scheduled to begin April 11, 2016, in Marion County. READ MORE.
RICHARD JOHNSON – The 41-year-old Bloomington tutor was arrested in March on charges of sexual battery and child seduction for allegedly touching teens he was tutoring inappropriately. Johnson reportedly admitted to touching the teenagers, but said he had no intention of hurting them. READ MORE.
KISHA NUCKOLS – An arrest warrant was issued April 1, 2016, for Mt. Vernon Middle School teacher's aide and lifeguard Kisha M. Nuckols for multiple counts of child seduction. Nuckols is accused of inappropriate relationships with at least six current and former students. READ MORE.
APRIL 18, 2016 -- Daleville Schools custodian Brady Milam is arrested on charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor for an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old female student.
April 19 -- Zionsville West Middle School orchestra teacher Michael Plewa is arrested on four counts of child seduction. The 33-year-old teacher is accused if having a "sexting" relationship with a then 8th grade student. READ MORE.
