Police Identify 4-Year-Old Boy Shot In Head

Jacob Michuda Shot, Killed While Fishing With His Father

More details were released in the case of a 4-year-old boy who was fatally shot in Wells County on Friday.

Wells County Sheriff Monte Fisher said that Jacob Michuda was shot in the head while he and his father were fishing from a pier at a pond outside Ossian.

Fisher said that alcohol was involved and that neighbor Bruce Pond apparently shot at a light on the pier where the father and son were fishing.

Pond, 46, is being held on a preliminary charge of reckless homicide and is due to appear in court Monday.

Family friend Trisha Ulmer called the shooting a "freak accident."

Michuda's death marks the fourth accidental shooting involving Indiana children in the past month, officials said.
