Police Identify Teen Killed On Skateboard

Sheriff: Riley Henry Was Skateboarding In Traffic

A Sulphur Springs teen was hit and killed while skateboarding in Middletown on Friday.

Police said Riley Henry, 17, was skateboarding along Raider Road at about 8 p.m. before he was hit by a pickup truck.

Henry County Sheriff Butch Baker said Henry was skateboarding in the direction of traffic when the accident happened.

Baker warned other teens against the hazards of skateboarding in traffic.

"I know the kids who like to skateboard don't have many places to go, but it's not safe to skate on county or city roads," Baker said.

The driver of the truck was given a blood test, but there was no indication that the driver was impaired, Baker said.
