Just after 2:30 a.m., police were dispatched to Cloud Nine Nightclub in the 5000 block of West 38th Street on reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground. Police did not release any details about the man’s injuries, only that he was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives described the victim as a black man in his 20s.

Investigators were told a large fight broke out just before shots were fired, but details on what may have prompted the fight were not released.
