Madison County authorities were searching for a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's daughter.

Deputies were called to a home near County Road 650 West north of County Road 100 North just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Roy Parmley, 53, burst into the home belonging to his ex-girlfriend, Terri Wiles, 53.

He tied up Wiles and her daughter, Amanda Wiles, 31, and then shot the daughter in front of her mother, police said.

"This is possibly a result of a relationship where one person decided they didn't want the relationship anymore," said Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson.

Amanda Wiles was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were searching nearby fields and wooded areas for Parmley all day Saturday.

"We're using ATVs, golf carts. We had a helicopter here from state police early this morning, canines from other departments," Richardson said. "Getting his picture out there will definitely help us try to locate him, and I'm hoping we locate him here somewhere close."

Police described Parmley as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 205 pounds with brown and gray hair and brown eyes.

They said he was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and carrying two shotguns and a handgun.

Neighbors said they were shocked by the violence.

"It's crazy, you know, small town, you don't think that stuff happens here, but it can happen anywhere. It's just very devastating," Christopher Webb.

"It's just completely scary. I mean, you know, I've got a daughter at home, and now we are like walking around just looking," said Linda Harmell. "I just told her what happened, and she is just terrified now, too."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Madison County Sheriff's Department at 765-642-0221 or 911.
