Police: Man Shot, Critically Injured After Fight

One man was critically injured in a shooting early Thursday on the city’s east side.

About 3:15 a.m., Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of East 10th Street on reports of a fight. While en route to the scene, officers were told there were reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 33-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Investigators said they are interviewing witnesses in order to determine the chain of events that led to the shooting.

The victim’s name was not released.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or text “INDYCS” to 274637 (CRIMES).
