The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Friday in the 13000 block of United Drive near 136th Street and Brooks School Road.

Police said the 8-year-old girl was playing in the family's driveway when a car stopped in front of their home.

The girl's mother told police she saw the man yell at the child and attempt to lure her into his vehicle.

The woman took the girl inside and called 911. Police searched the area but didn't find the car.

The man was described as white, 30 to 40 years old, with a thin build, light skin and dirty blond hair.

He was driving a black late 2000 model Toyota Camry.

Police urged parents to keep a watchful eye on their children and report any suspicious activity immediately.
