Police: Mom, Ex-Boyfriend Charged In Death Of Infant Son

Chelsea Taylor, Ryan Worline Face Felony Neglect Charges

An Indianapolis mother and her ex-boyfriend were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the death of her 1-year-old son, police said.

On Jan. 18, officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 4800 block of Lakeshore Place on reports of an unresponsive baby who was not breathing.

The boy, Jayden Noel, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy's mother, Chelsea Taylor, 20, and her then-boyfriend Ryan Worline, 29, told police that they had been sleeping, and when they woke up, they found the boy blue and not breathing.

But doctors at Riley Hospital for Children found the boy suffered from a skull fracture and a healing clavicle injury, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The boy's biological father told police that he had called Child Protective Services when he noticed blood and bruises on his son's face during visits.

Taylor and Worline were each charged with felony neglect of a dependent causing death.

Indianapolis police spokesman Officer Kendale Adams said Worline was being held at the Marion County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Taylor was held on a similar bond, but was released after posting bail.

Worline and Taylor are expected to appear in court Thursday.
