An Indianapolis man spotted walking naked through Broad Ripple told officers he "just wanted to be free," police said.

Several people called 911 around 6 p.m. Tuesday to report a man walking naked near 65th Street and Westfield Boulevard.

Leonard Fodera, 19, told officers that he "wanted to do what he wanted to do," and that it was "opposite day" so he didn't have to wear clothes, according to a police report.

"All of the areas that Fodera appeared in are in public and at no time did he make any attempt to cover his genitals or buttocks," the police report noted.

Fodera was arrested on a preliminary charge of public indecency.
