After initial reports of a death investigation involving a possible body in a garbage truck on the city's east side, police say no body was found.

Officers were called to 18th Street and Euclid Avenue, between Sherman Drive and Emerson Avenue, about 11:30 a.m. Monday.

A Department of Public Works employee was emptying a trash can when he thought he saw an arm go into the truck.

The worker called police, and the truck was taken in to be examined.

Indianapolis metro police spokesman Kendale Adams said investigators did not find a body in the truck and detectives have cleared the scene.
