INDIANAPOLIS -- An IMPD officer was shot during an incident on the city's south side early Saturday morning.
Police were responding to a call around 3 a.m. about noises outside a home in the 1100 block of McDougal Street.
A woman said her house was damaged by gunshots had been fired throughout the night from a nearby home.
Officers were walking with the woman when shots were fired at them.
One officer was hit in the left arm. IMPD says the eight-year veteran is in good condition at Methodist Hospital.

Police say the gunman, 50-year-old Roger Hawkins, barricaded himself inside a home next door and continued to sporadically fire shots.
SWAT negotiators tried for three hours to get Hawkins to surrender peacefully.
When that didn't work, they threw 'chemical agents' into the house.
Hawkins eventually came out and officers used beanbag rounds to subdue him.
He's been preliminarily charged with two counts of attempted murder and criminal recklessness.
"This incident could have resulted in a number of casualties, but I am proud of our officers for bringing this incident to a peaceful resolution. I would like to thank the community for their outpouring of concern and support for our wounded officer. I'd also like to thank all the public safety and medical professionals who assisted us today," said Troy Riggs, IMPD Chief.
