Police Seek Suspect In Hamilton County Rape

Authorities: Man Fled From Home After Woman Called Police

Police said they were trying to find a man suspected of raping a woman in a home in northern Hamilton County on Wednesday.

Aaron C. Massey, 31, is accused of assaulting the woman over a period of several hours in a home near the 24000 block of U.S. 31, several miles east of Sheridan, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department said.

The woman freed herself and called police at about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. As officers arrived at the home, Massey fled and successfully evaded them, police said.

Investigators said Massey is also telling people he is a U.S. Marine home from Iraq, which isn't true, according to police.

"He frequents bars and, during conversation, talks about him being a United States Marine home from Iraq, which I find increidbly offensive," said Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter. "It's not true ... He is not a veteran."

Massey is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 185 pounds and has brown hair that is closely cut in a military style and tattoos on his upper arms, police said. He was last seen wearing only blue tennis shoes and gym trunks.

Massey faces charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement while armed and sexual battery, according to the sheriff's department. Investigators said Massey knows the victim.

Anyone with information on Massey's whereabouts can call sheriff's Capt. Kevin Jowitt or Detective Mike Howell at 317-773-1282, the sheriff's department said.
