Police: Video Shows Man Exposing Himself In Store

Officers Say Man Was Watching Woman, 2 Kids

A man was arrested earlier this week after he allegedly exposed himself inside a department store.

Shawn Dean, 32, of Kokomo, was seen Monday on surveillance camera touching himself inside a Kohl's store, police said.

Officers said Dean was watching a woman and her two small children in front of the store.

Police were called to the store and found Dean before he approached anyone, 6News' Jennifer Carmack reported.

"No victims -- in fact, I'm sure the female shopper it was probably unbeknownst to her," said Anderson police Detective Mitch Carroll. "He was carrying out from a distance, thankfully."

Police said Dean had been arrested in similar cases elsewhere.

"Our responding officer, literally within five or six steps of walking in the store, identified the guy actually still in the act," Carroll said.

Dean was charged with indecent exposure and false informing. He was held Wednesday in the Madison County Jail.
