Another Ind. suit filed for same-sex marriage

INDIANAPOLIS - Another federal suit has been filed in Indiana on behalf of same-sex couples who want the right to marry.

The suit was filed Monday in the United States District Court Southern District of Indiana, just days after a similar suit was filed in the same federal court .

This most recent suit names four defendants -- Boone County Clerk Penny Bogan, Porter County Clerk Karen M. Martin, Lake County Clerk Michael A. Brown and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller.

Lambda Legal brought the suit on behalf of three Indiana couples who want to get married:

  • Rae Baskin, 60, and Esther Fuller, 78, of Whitestown, Ind., who have been together for 24 years
  • Bonne Everly, 56, and Linda Judkins, 57, of Chesterton, Ind., who have been together for 13 years
  • Dawn Lynn Carver, 41, and Pamela Eanes, 50, of Munster, Ind., who have been together for 17 years
