INDIANAPOLIS -- Less than a week after Carrier and President-elect Donald Trump announced their deal to keep over 700 jobs in Indiana, the company announced that it will be raising its prices.
United Technologies Corp., Carrier’s parent company, announced Monday that they would be raising their prices for heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment by up to 5 percent. The new prices would go into effect on January 1, 2017.
The decision to raise prices was first announced back in November, according to Bloomberg.
Last week, Trump visited Carrier's Indianapolis plant to announce a deal that would keep over 700 of the company's jobs in Indiana.

In total, more than 500 jobs will be moving from the plant in Indianapolis to Monterrey, Mexico, which is less than the originally estimated 600. It is believed most of these jobs will come from the fan coil line that produces electric furnaces.

The manufacturer said that its decision to raise prices is unrelated to Carrier’s decision to keep some of their jobs in Indianapolis.
