Former IN Dem. Party chair declines mayoral run

INDIANAPOLIS - Former Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker has released a statement on his decision to decline a bid for mayor of Indianapolis in 2015.

Parker said he's spent the past four months meeting with the city's community leaders to explore a possible bid for mayor.

He also said he believes the city needs new leadership that values all residents, neighborhoods, quality schools, finances and that "...we must address the issue of spiraling violent crime that has touched far too many families and claimed far too many lives, including two heroic police officers killed in the line of duty in the last year."
