INDIANAPOLIS - Gov. Mike Pence has reappointed James Atterholt as chairman of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Pence said Atterholt has demonstrated the right skills necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the job.
"(He) is a person of deep conviction and commitment to his family, community and state," Pence said. "He has…the competence Indiana will need to develop energy policy, create jobs and protect ratepayers."
Atterholt is a former member of the Indiana General Assembly, having served on the House Commerce, Economic Development and Technology Committee, which has jurisdiction over all utility-related legislation.
Atterholt was first appointed to the IURC by former Governor Mitch Daniels in 2009. He was appointed to IURC chairman in 2010.
