Lauren Spierer
"I've been seeing it blown up all over Twitter and all over Facebook, all over anything related to IU," Flanigan said. "I had just finished my freshman year and all year her face has been everywhere. It's pretty hard to not think about.Spierer was last seen on June 2, 2011 walking into Bloomington's Kilroys bar with friends.Since then, police and community members have been trying to piece together exactly what happened that led to her disappearance, RTV6s Chance Walser reported.Parent Paul Martineau said Spierers disappearance has made him uncomfortable with his son transferring to IU next year."For me, the biggest frustration is that there is somebody out there or more than one person out there that knows exactly where she is and exactly what happened that night and for whatever reason they aren't choosing to come forward, Martineau said. "The sad thing is, it's a beautiful school, but in a parents mind, that's one of the images you conjure up and it creates a perception. For now, that perception has provided motivation for Flanigan and her friends to take precaution and to stay safe.I think there's a pretty good idea of camaraderie. Nobody was going to let somebody go home and not be safe, student Abby Bartish said.Bloomington Police said the Spierer investigation is still a very active case.Detectives asked anyone with information about Spierers disappearance to call Bloomington police at 812-339-4477.A $250,000 reward is being offered.
