A man suspected in a series of killings helped police with a homicide investigation in Bloomington on Thursday.William Clyde Gibson was out of jail with detectives for several hours in Bloomington, police said.Police were quick to point out that the investigation was not linked to missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said that a tip led New Albany Police to a wooded area near the Monroe County Airport in search of a female's remains, RTV6's Ericka Flye reported.Stephanie Kirk is one of at least three women police believe were killed by Gibson.Kirk, 35, of Charlestown, had been missing for about a month before her body was found in a makeshift grave in the backyard of Gibson's home, police said.Gibson was charged with murder in the deaths of two other women -- Christine Whitis, 75, and Karen Hodella, 45. Hodella was killed in 2002.Gibson has not been charged in connection with Kirk's death.
