Teen Arrested In Killings Of 2 Men

Police: 16-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot Victims

A 16-year-old boy was arrested over the weekend in the fatal shooting of two men last week.

The boy was arrested on two counts of murder and failure to possess a valid firearm permit.

Formal charges are expected to be filed later this week, said Kendale Adams, Indianapolis police public information officer.

Police did not release information about the motive in the shooting.

Victor Pennell, 50, and William Smith, 45, both of Camby, were found last Wednesday after neighbors reported hearing gunshots and moaning in an alley behind 48 N. Addison St. just before 9 p.m.

Pennell was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
