Just after 1:30 a.m., an officer driving eastbound on 46th Street in the 8700 block spotted a person by the curb.

The officer originally believed the man had been hit by a car, but soon discovered that he'd been shot in the stomach.

The victim was able to tell officers that he was walking home to his nearby apartment when four men approached him in a silver Neon, and one of the men shot him.

The 19-year-old was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he later died.

The man's name was not released Thursday morning.
