If you frequent the Pendleton Pike area, you may want to listen to this traffic alert.
One lane in both directions of U.S. Highway 36/Pendleton Pike will be closed, beginning Tuesday, to begin replacing a culvert.
This culvert stretches from the India Branch of Indian Creek between Oaklandon and Carroll Roads.
To keep traffic going throughout the process, the project requires two phases, one lane in each direction will be shifted to share one half of the roadway while the new culvert is rebuilt, one half at a time.
These phases are expected to take roughly 6 weeks, each phase, with a completion date hoped to be in October.
It's all part of a $502,425 project to replace the old culvert with a new 8-foot by 10-foot precast reinforced concrete box culvert.
Speeds in the work zone will be reduced to 35 miles per hour, while construction continues.
And as always, be mindful of workers out there on the roads.
