PEORIA, Ariz. -- A truck hauling an Indy race car made an unscheduled pit stop outside Phoenix, Arizona.

A truck that was hauling Sébastien Bourdais' race car caught fire on Wednesday morning along State Route Loop 101 and 75 Avenue.

The Department of Public Safety said the driver of the truck was working to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher when crews arrived.

According to DPS, it appears the fire started in one of the axles.

No injuries were reported.

Bourdais will be racing at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday.

"First and foremost, the good news is that both of our team members, John Phil Davis and Eric 'Stu' Stewart were uninjured. Secondarily, the cars and equipment are undamaged," said KSVH Racing General Manager Steve Moore.
