Two Killed In Interstate Crash

Two men were killed and a woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 65 five miles southeast of Lebanon on Monday afternoon, police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. near mile-marker 134. Police said they believe the car's driver, Lynda E. Cuevas, fell asleep at the wheel and swerved across the nortbound lanes into the median, flipping across the southbound lanes.

Two passengers, Cory A. Hipple of Lebanon and William G. Davis II of Mulberry, died as a result of the wreck. Cuevas, of Lebanon, suffered minor injuries, police said.

"(Cuevas) heard (a) passenger ... yelling her name, and she woke up and then she doesn't remember anything," Boone County sheriff's Deputy R.T. Krise said.

Officials said the men were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the car.

Southbound I-65 was blocked as investigators worked at the scene.
