Nissan has issued a recall of more than 3 million vehicles because of a problem with passenger-side airbags.

The Japanese automaker says at least three crashes have been reported in which the airbag system didn't properly deploy.

The recall includes vehicles manufactured from 2013-2017. A number of models are affected, among them the Pathfinder, Sentra, Altima and some Infinitis.

Nissan said it would begin notifying dealers of its remedy plan in May.
