The identity of a man who was killed in a plane crash late Wednesday evening in Fayette County was released Friday morning.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Rod Russell said James Robert Savor, 47, of Indianapolis, was killed when his twin-engine Cessna 421C went down in a cornfield near Connersville Municipal Airport.

The crash happened at about 8:15 p.m., about two and a half miles from the airport, Russell said.

"(The plane) can carry a crew of two and six passengers. There were no passengers on board," Russell said.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.
