Woman's Body Found In Fall Creek

Badly Decomposed Body Not Yet Identified

Indianapolis police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in Fall Creek on Sunday evening.

Officials said witnesses spotted the body floating in the water at the creek's edge, stuck between some debris, just before 7 p.m.

Indianapolis police and the Marion County Coroner's Office are trying to determine who she is.

"We're not able to determine any type of identity, not even a race at this point, because the body is so decomposed," said Kendale Adams, Indianapolis police public information officer. "Once we find out who she is, then we can backtrack and try to determine the events that led to her demise."

The coroner's office expects to determine the woman's cause of death on Tuesday.
