Police said they believe someone involved in a lingering traffic dispute fired bullets into an Indianapolis home early Tuesday, killing a woman who wasn't involved in that dispute.

Sandra Holman, 58, was shot in the chest when someone fired into her home (pictured) in the 2700 block of North Gale Avenue at about 1:30 a.m., police said.

Police were called, and Holman was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m., authorities said.

"It appears that this all stemmed from a traffic accident (in that neighborhood Monday) and a disturbance that occurred because of that traffic accident," Indianapolis police Sgt. Matt Mount said.

Police said Holman, a mother of three who lived in the home with several people, wasn't involved in the dispute. Police said they were investigating whether anyone in the home was connected to the traffic incident.

No arrests were announced as of Tuesday at 5 p.m.
