Ericka Flye
Weekend Anchor/General Assignment Reporter
"Meeting and helping people and telling their stories" is the reason that Ericka Flye decided to go into broadcasting.She joined RTV6 in March 2000 as a general assignment reporter and Saturday morning anchor. Flye now anchors the weekend 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.Flye previously was an anchor/reporter at The Ohio News Network, WBNS in Columbus, Ohio. Her first news job was at WTHR, Indianapolis, as an overnight news anchor. The Anderson native attended Purdue University and graduated from Ball State University with a degree in telecommunications.
In her spare time, Flye enjoys shopping and interior decorating. She says it was an unbelievable experience to do live reports from Miami as her home team, the Indianapolis Colts, went on to win the Super Bowl.Flye is proud to present the RTV6 Leadership Award to Hoosiers who are nominated as leaders in their communities. Her weekly reports share the stories of these individuals.Flye especially enjoys working with children and makes appearances at various events involving or benefiting young people."I am thrilled to be working in the area where I grew up," Flye said.
