Jason Spells is the newest member of the 6 Sports team, joining WRTV in May of 2009.

Spells comes to RTV6 after spending fours years at News 14 Carolina in Raleigh, North Carolina. During his time in Raleigh, he covered the Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes, as well as ACC powers North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Duke.

Duke and Carolina haters, don’t worry Spells is right there with you. The proud N.C State alum dislikes all shades of blue. The Greensboro, North Carolina native is proud to now call central Indiana home.

“Growing up on Tobacco Road and in the Middle of Nascar Country I always knew how great Indianapolis was as a sports city, “said Spells. “The Indy 500 is the greatest sports spectacle ever and the history of IU and Purdue are well documented. Throw in the Colts and Pacers and I can’t think of a better city to live and work.”
