Daniel Sedin Returns For Canucks

POSTED: 2:02 am EST November 23, 2009

(Sports Network) - Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin made his return to the ice Sunday night after missing 18 games due to a broken foot.

Sedin took a shift early in the first period of Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. He played just over 18 minutes and had three shots on goal.

"Skating was fine out there. I wasn't that tired," said Sedin. "It's just a matter of getting the timing back."

It marked his first game since October 7 against Montreal. It was during that contest when Sedin took an Alex Edler shot off his foot, causing the break.

Sedin has four assists in four games this season. The 29-year-old has played his entire nine-year career in Vancouver and until this season had never missed more than seven games. In 82 tilts last season, the second overall pick in the 1999 draft scored 31 goals and assisted on 51 more.

Sedin, who signed a new five-year contract with twin brother Henrik in the offseason, has 179 career goals and 466 points.
