(Sports Network) - The NHL suspended Philadelphia Flyers forward Daniel Briere for two games following a late hit on Colorado's Scott Hannan on Monday.

Hannan scored a goal to put Colorado up 4-2 midway through the second period and was greeted by a high elbow from Briere after the whistle.

Briere has 10 goals and six assists in 17 games with Philadelphia this season.
