INDIANAPOLIS -- One central Indiana school referendum passed, while two others failed in Marion County in Tuesday's special election.Voters in Perry Township defeated a $98 million plan to renovate and expand facilities by a less than 200-vote margin.More: Election Results Break Down
The final tally was 4,025 to 3,851.Elsewhere, Beech Grove voters overwhelmingly approved a tax increase to save transportation and fund technology, while voters in Franklin Township shot down two referenda for $9 million to help overcome property tax losses.The Beech Grove tally was 1,383 in favor to 861 opposed. In Franklin Township, the questions failed by margins of 4,930 to 2,192 and 4,395 to 2,240.Under new state law, school districts are required to put major building projects to a referendum vote.Watch 6News and refresh this page for updates.
