Vegas Q&A: What Does Vegas Offer Older Teens?
Updated: 12:39 p.m. EDT October 6, 2003
Question: What nightlife and daily attractions should not be missed by older teenagers?
Lisa in Barrington, R.I.
Answer: Vegas is a tough place for teenagers. They're usually too old to enjoy the kiddie stuff and obviously too young to take part in the whole gambling, drinking, strip-club thing that so many people go to Vegas for.
There isn't much in the way of nightlife for teenagers, but there certainly are a lot of attractions. If the teenagers in question are thrill fans, then the roller coaters at Sahara, Stratosphere, and New York-New York are all must-sees. There are some cool arcades at Luxor, MGM Grand and Stratosphere as well.
If you have animal lovers in the family, they'll definitely go to see the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage and the tigers at MGM Grand.
Just about all ages enjoy the light-and-sound show on the Fremont Street Experience and the water fountains at Bellagio, but if you have those sullen teenager types, they will probably stand around and sigh a lot. Of course, they're probably going to do that no matter where you take them, so you might as well have some fun yourself!
Older teenagers will probably also enjoy some of the shows. I recommend "Mystere," Blue Man Group, Lance Burton, and maybe Siegfried & Roy.
