Flooding Resources -- Where To Get Help Or Volunteer

Here are some resources for flooding/storm damage assistance and donations:

Flood/Storm Assistance
Apply for federal aid (for residents in counties declared federal disaster areas) -- FEMA.gov

Local disaster centers are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Columbus, it is at Northside Middle School, at 1400 27th St.

A center is open in Terre Haute at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, at 1101 S. 13th St.

Storm victims in Morgan County can go to Poston Road Elementary School, at 139 E. Poston Rd.

In Franklin, a center is open at Franklin College Johnson Center for Fine Arts, at 211 Branigan Blvd.

In Indianapolis, a center is open at 8902 E. 38th Street.

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and American Red Cross are available at each of the centers.

Assistance Hot Line
A telephone hot line has also been opened to direct storm victims to a variety of resources. The phone number is 888-880-3749. It is staffed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Hoosiers who want to help tornado and flood victims now have a central collection site at which they can drop off donations -- 6075 Lakeside Blvd., on Indianapolis' northwest side. More information: 800-736-2550.
