Another Super Bowl bid could in Indianapolis future.

City leaders met Tuesday morning to announce that they are considering bidding for the NFL championship game in 2012, 6News' Ray Cortopassi reported.

Indianapolis narrowly lost its bid to host the game in 2011 to Dallas. Mayor Greg Ballard said he wanted to build on the city's 2011 effort. The team organized to explore the bid includes several corporate players from the previous effort and some new ones.

"We're in it to win," said bid organizer Mark Miles. "Things have come together for Indianapolis over a period of 25-plus years that make it a particularly historic moment for us.

"The goodwill that we have here in the city and the fact that we know how to put on championship events ... we are built for this sort of thing," Ballard said. "I think the NFL knows that also."

Organizers said they expect to decide whether to bid within the next two weeks. The league will decide in May who will get to host the game.
