Spurs Down Indy For 11th Straight Win

San Antonio, TX -- (Sports Network) - Manu Ginobili scored 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting as San Antonio won its 11th straight game by disposing of Indiana, 108-97, at the AT&T Center.Tony Parker added 19 points and five assists for the defending NBA champion Spurs, who have won 11 in a row and 15 of their past 16 games to remain atop the Southwest Division. Matt Bonner came off the bench to chip in 15 points and Michael Finley netted 12. San Antonio All-Star forward Tim Duncan was held to just six points on 3-of-11 shooting.
Danny Granger finished with 22 points and six steals for the Pacers, who have dropped five of seven. Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy both contributed 13 points and Travis Diener and Flip Murray each had 11. After a tightly contested first half, San Antonio finally carved out some breathing room by opening the third quarter with an 18-7 run. Parker highlighted the burst with a three and Bonner finished it with a jumper to give the Spurs a 68-55 edge with 5:41 left in the stanza. San Antonio kept the pressure on from there. Bruce Bowen sandwiched a David Harrison layup with a pair of threes and Fabricio Oberto then stroked a jumper to put the Spurs up 76-60. San Antonio entered the final frame with a comfortable 84-69 advantage and was never seriously threatened the rest of the way. Finley scored five straight points, on a pair of free throws and a three, to give San Antonio a 21-point cushion, 98-77, with 7:50 let in the game. The Spurs emptied the bench from there and coasted to the finish line. The game was deadlocked at 27 after the opening 12 minutes. Things remained close in the second quarter with the Spurs holding a 50-48 edge at intermission. Game Notes Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was ejected from the game with 5:39 left in the second quarter for arguing with referee Mark Wunderlich. Popovich was also ejected in a home game against the Toronto Raptors in December...San Antonio has won six in a row as the host and are 26-5 at home this season...The Pacers were just 3-of-19 from three-point range...The Spurs had 24 assists in the game to just nine for Indiana.
