Which City Has Longest Pro-Title Drought?

Philly Tops List Of Cities Waiting For Pro Sports Championship

Philadelphia fans want this year's World Series title -- badly.

The City Of Brotherly Love last celebrated a professional sports championship in 1983 when the Philadelphia 76ers won the NBA crown. With four professional teams in the city -- the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers and Flyers -- fans have watched 100 winless seasons between the quartet of squads.

The Eagles last won the Super Bowl in 1960, the Flyers last hoisted the Stanley Cup in 1975, and the Phillies last claimed the World Series crown in 1980.

While Philadelphia's drought is the worst in professional sports, other cities with four professional teams have also been waiting on a championship.

The San Francisco area last celebrated a professional sports title in 1994 when the 49ers won the Super Bowl. Their professional teams have combined for 54 title-less seasons since.

Dallas' last sports title came in 1999 when the Stars won the Stanley Cup. The NHL also provided Denver with its last crown, as the Avalanche won the league title in 2001.

The Diamondbacks won the Phoenix area's last professional title when they won the World Series in 2001.

While these teams have had droughts, at least they've experienced a victory. Atlanta, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Washington, D.C., have not won a title since they've hosted four professional sports teams.

But this month, all eyes are on Philadelphia and its quest to end its winless drought.
