Oakland, CA -- (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics have placed pitcher Dallas Braden on the bereavement list and recalled pitcher Dana Eveland from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the roster spot.

Braden was scheduled to start Tuesday's game against Boston. He has a record of 6-7 with a 3.13 earned run average in 17 starts this season.

Eveland spent the first month of the season with Oakland and was 1-2 with a 7.40 ERA in six games, including five starts, before being demoted on May 5. The lefty has pitched well for Sacramento with a record of 7-1 and a 3.49 ERA in 12 starts.
